A lot of companies just offer one or two eco-friendly elements and just slap a label on to get with the trend. For us, eco-friendly furniture is a consideration for all components of every piece. It's about thinking about our planet, the eco-friendly focus. But it's also about our customers and their homes, what we call home-friendly.
No fire retardants or harsh chemicals used
We take pride in knowing that every Stem product is made from the best available non-toxic materials.
All of the upholstered frames are made with kiln dried hardwood from certified locally sourced forests, and FSC certified.
Our case goods are made with either FSC certified, domestically sourced hardwoods, or bamboo sheets. On the solid wood pieces we use a natural linseed oil and each bamboo piece is finished with a low VOC finish.
We offer a wide range of fibers, textures, and weaves so you're sure to find something that's perfect for your space. The cotton lining we use for the internal frames and dust covers are certified organic as well.
Natural twine is used along with jute for the frame lining. We never use fire retardants, formaldehyde, or harsh chemicals. For any wood glues we're using the lowest VOC on the market.
None of our fabrics have fire retardants or stain finishes, and we even offer 100% natural like cotton, hemp and wool, and some certified organic textiles as well.
For the filling, you have the choice of CertiPUR-US® certified foam or natural latex. From the sap of rubber trees, natural latex 100% natural, very durable, with no chemicals. Bacteria, mildew, and mold resistant. This is one of the most unique materials we offer for our eco-friendly furniture.
The eco-wool we use follows sustainability and cruelty free standards, and is free of all chemical additives.
