Optical Impressions - Western America

One thing that I love to do is to road trip across America. I recently got the chance to do a bigger trip across 8 states. It was a great opportunity to just spend time with my thoughts and the open road.

The hardest part is always to actually start and man was a part of me dreading the start of this trip. This was going to be my longest solo road trip and that meant a lot of driving. Times like these is when I wish I had a fancy self driving car, but we have to make due with what we have!

This trip was different for me because I wanted to minimize the use of hotels/motels. This meant camping out. I converted my truck to a temporary camper and just left. I have to admit that the days/hours leading up to the trip was a little nerve wrecking. I've never done this type of traveling before. The trip involved sleeping at a lot of gas stations, rest stops, and just random places where I could pull over and nap.

Destinations include Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Arches National Park, Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon, Pfeiffer Falls, Big Sur and everything in between.

For this trip I used my Sony A7Rii with the 24-70 f/2.8 GM and 16-35mm F/4 G.
